THE TRAVELLING EXPAT

5 THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE ARRIVING AT SYDNEY AIRPORT
1 - If you are on a connecting domestic flight, you do have to exit customs pick up your luggage and head over to the internal bus transfer (it is not walkable). Ensure you have your next ticket handy as you will need this to get the free shuttle bus service to the domestic terminal.
2- if your passport is electronically compatible, ensure you register in one of the booths along the way. Do not wait until you arrive at customs as the line (especially in the morning) can be extremely long and slow. Once you’ve registered then turn right towards the baggage carousels whatever you do; do not get stuck in the long line in the middle as this is for those who have not registered yet!

3- if you have received an express pass then this is only to wait in the express line at immigration! It no longer gives you express access after your baggage has been collected.

4- pre-book your rental car as it can reduce the amount of time you spend queuing at the desk. If you are a member of Avis, this process is so quick you will wonder why you hadn’t done it sooner.

5- morning flights arrivals are chaos this is especially noticed during the end of Australian school holidays. So check the Aussie Calendar before booking your flights.
